Public Relations Manager, Global Issues and Crisis Communications

We are looking for candidates who want to help shape our issues management and crisis communications.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist in monitoring day-to-day Expedia Group (EG) and brand social channels to intercept any potential issues with posts or influencers

  • Assist in monitoring day-to-day press inquiries for possible issues related requests and working with media relations teams to craft responses

  • Maintain digital playbook that includes documenting responses and approaches for various issues

  • Create an escalation path for issues that need to be resolved on social platforms

  • Day-to-day lead for issues related to(EG) and brand social platforms

  • Collaboration with customer service teams for response to potential high-profile situations

  • Assess potential risk for incoming brand opportunities on social and collaborate with team to provide a communications strategy recommendation on when/how to respond

  • Understand multiple data points and perspectives from across the organization to inform decisions

  • Core member of the Global Corporate Communications team

Who you are:

  • Strong understanding and use of social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and LinkedIn

  • Experience engaging with consumers on different social media platforms externally

  • Preferably, experience with social media management tools like Sprinklr

  • Strong judgement and agile thinking on when to interject and halt potential issues

  • Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders, internally and externally

  • Preferable, crisis communications experience with traditional media

  • Strategic thinking with a nod towards creativity and curiosity

  • Written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to identify stand-out trends and potential issues that could arise

  • Experience working with customer service teams across a myriad of issues

  • Strong data analysis to understand what’s working

  • Ability to work across a large, matrixed organization

  • 5+ years of public relations, social media and/or crisis communications experience

New York: The total cash range for this position is $107,500. to $150,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $172,000.00 , which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
