Positions in this function are responsible for first-level response and resolution of escalated issues with external and internal customers. Responsible for the overall delivery of benefits and services by providing support and guidance to existing and potential customers to ensure continued membership.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates, supervises and is accountable for the daily activities of business support, technical or production team or UnitedHealth Group
  • Directly oversees a group of prior authorization agents
  • Coordinate, supervise and be accountable for the daily activities of your team
  • Identify and resolve operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgement
  • Make decisions guided by policies and procedures that push the team in a positive direction
  • Mentor, coach and develop your team
  • Drive results, improve team performance
  • Set priorities for you and your team to ensure task completion
  • Coordinate work activities if needed with other supervisors
  • Develop action plans to achieve goals on a team level

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma OR GED equivalent
  • 3+ years of customer service experience
  • 2+ years of leadership experience (supervisor, interim supervisor, or manager)
  • 2+ years of call center experience
  • 1+ years of Prior Authorization or Utilization Management experience
  • Available to work any shift between 6am-6pm Monday-Friday

Preferred Qualification:

  • Healthcare experience

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $54,400 to $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $60,000 to $106,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
