Job description

The Plan Document Analyst is responsible for the review, development and creation of Health benefit plans for new and existing clients. Strong collaboration skills are required as a Plan Writer is required to coordinate internal and external requests.


  • Prepare new and restated Summary Plan Description (SPD) booklets.
  • Complete annual Summary of Benefits & Coverage (SBC) templates.
  • Prepare Summary of Material Modifications (SMM), Summary of Material Reduction (SMR), plan amendments.
  • Collaborate with clients and brokers to review plan documents.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding plan provisions and regulatory updates.
  • Meet client performance guarantees.
  • Meet department timeliness and accuracy standards.


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present ideas to clients, brokers and internal stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work on several documents simultaneously.


  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • Associates degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience with medical benefit plans.
