Job description

Under direct supervision, perform administrative related duties related to payroll processing. Responsible for assisting personnel across the enterprise with payroll related inquiries, processing/validating paperwork, and updating/filing employee records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist personnel at all levels across the enterprise by answering payroll related inquiries.
  • Process and recover tuition payments to colleges and employees.
  • Process and check the accuracy of employee paperwork such as Notice of Separation, benefit extensions, etc.
  • Update and file employee records.
  • Perform duties related to COBRA administration (e.g. apply and monitor payments, handle billing inquiries, send letters to determine eligibility etc.).
  • Perform employment verifications.
  • Perform duties related to retiree medical such as benefit extensions, setting up elections, etc.
  • Send out written communications (e.g. letters) as required.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to management and staff in department as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent required. Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Less than two (2) years’ experience in a payroll environment or related work experience preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Good organizational, problem resolution, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and within established deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in current industry standard PC applications and systems (i.e., Excel, Word).
  • Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
