HealthCare Alliance Group LLC, an innovative, full-service medical communications company, is adding a Medical/Scientific Director to its team. This position will provide expert scientific and strategic planning as well as content development and execution expertise to the company. Additionality, the Medical/Scientific Director will guide business development, medical communications content, and medical affairs oversight for all therapeutic areas as needed. The Medical/Scientific Director may be asked to participate in medical strategy activities.

We are looking for someone with experience in neuroscience, infectious disease, endocrine disorders, and oncology as well as some experience in other therapeutic areas.

The corporate office is located in Voorhees, New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia. The role can be 100% remote, or partial in office, if desired.


  • Provide strategic insight regarding emerging therapies and practice-related issues

  • Identify and support new business opportunities within current accounts and new accounts

  • Develop strategic plans and implement or oversee implementation of initiatives

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key opinion leaders

  • Develop content as well as supervise others who develop content for scientific accuracy and compliance

  • Develop medical education distribution plans including innovative methods to reach members of a target audience

  • Ensure corporate adherence to all external and internal compliance policies and guidelines

  • Assist in the hiring of scientific staff

  • Supervise and mentor the efforts of internal medical writers, copyeditors, and freelance medical writers

  • Assist in the development of proposals strategically and scientifically as well as provide input on budgets

  • Present and participate in all medically relevant portions of capabilities and client presentations to existing and prospective clients

  • May include up to 25% travel (including nights and weekends)

Education and Experience:

One or more of the following degrees: MD, DO, PhD, or PharmD and have significant scientific/clinical practice experience and/or scientific strategy and content development for a medical education agency or pharmaceutical company

Skills Required:

  • Understand and have vast experience in scientific strategic planning as well as scientific content development for medical communications activities in an agency environment

  • Ability to write and manage scientific content

  • Experience in neuroscience, infectious disease, endocrine disorders, and oncology as well as some experience in other therapeutic areas

  • Knowledge of industry compliance/guidelines (ie, OIG, HIPAA, PhRMA)

  • Able to conduct literature searches to identify unmet medical needs and validate and develop medical content

  • Perform all essential job functions under the constraint of tight timelines

  • Willing to accommodate to the changing demands of each project

  • Contribute to overall project as well as corporate strategic goals

  • Work well with members of all medical agency teams including senior management, account management, project management, medical writing, copyediting, information technology, creative, meetings, and administrative

  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks

  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication, and presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to corporate goals and objectives

  • Desire to promote new business development

  • Proficiency in advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
