The Design Engineer is a critical member of the IDS team. Their mission is to ensure designs meet mission requirements. This role analyzes, designs, and models product enhancements on existing programs as well as supports conceptual designs for new programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide practical, functional and compliant equipment designs
- Read and interpret specifications, proposals, pricing and correspondence
- Evaluate designs for performance, safety, reliability
- Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements
- Generate technical component documentation
- Provide technical assistance to the production and testing teams
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations
